The City of Burnet has a Council-Manager form of government consisting of a Mayor and Council Members, and a City Manager, appointed by the City Council.
The City of Burnet, Burnet County, Texas, is a an incorporated Home Rule Charter City. The Home Rule Charter was adopted in 2000 by city election.
The City Council consists of seven members -- a mayor and six council members elected from the City at-large. The Mayor and Council Members serve two (2) year terms and for no more than three (3) consecutive terms.
