Come to the fort and see how it was done in the early days of the frontier. Watch a blacksmith pounding out iron on his anvil or sugar cane being made into syrup. Taste warm home made bread right out of an iron stove or visit the one room school and see what it was like to "do your lessons" on a slate board. Come listen to the live music and watch as frontiersmen make camp. You might even see a few Indians, but don't worry, they are friendly these days.
Fort Croghan Day celebrates the lives and efforts of those brave souls willing to risk all to make the Texas frontier their new home. Admission and parking are FREE, donations graciously accepted.
