Highland Lakes Quilt Guild (HLQG) welcomes in the new year with an exciting line-up of new programs.

Highland Lakes Quilt Guild (HLQG) welcomes in the new year with an attractive line-up of new programs featuring topics on green quilting, combining paint and textiles, thread art, constructing art quilts, sculpting fabric vessels, and working with silk. We are especially pleased to introduce topics on green quilting which include learning tips and techniques on recycling garments and reclaiming fabric for new projects. HLQG member Novelleen Parker recently created a lovely accent pillow fashioned from a few of her husband’s vintage collection of 100 silk suit ties which range in age from 20 to 40 years. The finished pillow now invokes many happy memories for the Parkers. If you are interested in learning about another green quilting story, please plan to join us January 17, for the guild’s Organizational Business Meeting where HLQG member Kathy Rector will present a short talk, titled Tie Journey; a story that began with a tie and ended with a lavish silk quilt. Highland Lakes Quilt Guild (HLQG) features monthly membership meetings 9:00 am – Noon, and most every third Wednesday of the month in the Fellowship Hall at the First Methodist Church of Marble Falls, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr.
