In 95%of all emergencies, everyday citizens provide the first immediate assistance on the scene. Without the proper training, how would you know what to do? Be prepared to take care of yourself, your family and your neighbors.

Under the direction of local emergency responders, CERT teams help provide critical support by giving immediate assistance to victims, providing damage assessment information and helping to organize other volunteers at a disaster site.

On Thursday, October 5, 2023, Burnet County Office of Emergency Management will begin our next CERT class.  This training is FREE and will be held from 6:30–9:30 p.m. on Thursdays, for 7 weeks. Training will be held at Agri-Life, 607 N Vandeveer St, South Wing, Room 14 in Burnet Tx in our CERT training room.

The training covers Disaster Planning & Preparedness, Home Safety Plan, Fire Extinguishers, Basic First Aid, and much more.

This program is made possible by a CAPCOG Citizens Corps Grant Program/CERT which provides the funds for training equipment and supplies.
