Project 316 is a non-profit that was started in memory of Officer Jose H. Meza who passed away on December 20, 2019. Officer Meza served the Burnet Police Department as a Patrolman and a K9 Handler at the time of his death.
Project 316’s mission is to help first responders, correction officers and dispatchers should they fall on tough times, or their families experience death. Officer Meza loved the community which he served and never hesitated to help someone in need. He and his partner loved community events and their energy and passion was contagious.
