SUMMARY:Highland Lakes Quilt Guild September Membership Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Judy Moore Pullen\, an accomplished quiltmaker\, designer\, writer\, lecturer and retired educator is Highland Lakes Guilt Guild’s featured program speaker Wednesday September 21. Judy has an exceptional talent for creating and teaching her needlework. She devoted 37 years to teaching (K through 12)\, and draws on that experience to successfully communicate quiltmaking\, rug hooking\, hand embroidery\, and needleturn appliqué. Her patterns and designs have been sold at the International Quilt Market in Houston. Judy co-authored 4 quilt books\, published one of her own and has designs for another. Judy organized 6 quiltmaking trips to small towns in Mexico to teach local women how to sew and construct quilts for their families. The knowledge and skills that Judy passed down provide a possible means for generating additional income for these tiny communities. Judy was born in Ohio and has lived in several cities; while living in San Angelo\, Texas she owned the Wool “n” Cotton Shop. Currently residing in the Highland Lakes area\, Judy creates and donates her quilts mostly to children in need. She teaches hand appliqué workshops and writes a creative ideas blog for the Colonial Needle Company (colonialneedle.com).\nThe Highland Lakes Quilt Guild meets 9:00 am – 11:30 am\, Wednesday September 21\, 2022\, in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church\, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr. in Marble Falls. Guests are welcome. Meza who passed away on December 20\, 2019.  Officer Meza served the Burnet Police Department as a Patrolman and a K9 Handler at the time of his death. Project 316’s mission is to help first responders\, correction officers and dispatchers should they fall on tough times\, or their families experience death. Officer Meza loved the community which he served and never hesitated to help someone in need. He and his partner loved community events and their energy and passion was contagious. K9 Kuso continues to serve the City of Burnet Community with Sgt. Stewart. \n
