The free event has both indoor and outdoor activities and will be open rain or shine. Covid guidelines will be in place.\nThe day is filled with artisans\, handicrafters and gardeners enjoying the love of horticulture and gardening. Vendors will be offering all types of plants\, along with garden and outdoor inspired products and services. Master gardeners will be presenting on gardening topics and there will be a kids’ booth with activities for all ages. A beautiful quilt is being shown and accepting donations for a chance to win it. Great food will also be available. If you want to know more about 4H or the Agrilife organization\, there will be pamphlets and representatives available to answer questions.\nThe Highland Lakes Master Gardeners is a non-profit\, educational\, literary and charitable organization under the auspices of the Texas A&M Agrilife Extension Service. Our mission is to disseminate horticultural information and practices to the community through volunteer activity. This show is a major fund raiser to assist in financing our community service projects and scholarship. Hope to see you there.

SUMMARY:39th Annual Bluebonnet Festival
DESCRIPTION:Burnet is deep in the Texas Hill Country\, in the Highland Lakes region. The city is easily accessible from all directions\, located at the intersection of Highways 281 and 29. Surrounded by sparkling lakes and rugged hills all year\, it’s a scenic drive from all directions. But there is a special magic to the Hill Country when bluebonnets carpet the roadside\, hills and pastures in blue at the height of the wildflower season.\nBurnet is considered one of the best places in Texas for viewing wildflowers. The town officially gained recognition to the well-known fact in 1981\, when the Texas State Legislature officially designated Burnet the “Bluebonnet Capital of Texas.”\nCommunity leaders decided to make the most of both the beautiful wildflowers and the recent state designation and created the Bluebonnet Festival. Through the hard work of festival founders Pat Riddell and Cary Johnson\, along with the Chamber Board and dozens of volunteers from the community\, the first Bluebonnet Festival held in 1983 was a huge success.\nThe annual Bluebonnet Festival has grown into one of the most exciting and successful small-town festivals in Texas. Always taking place the second weekend in April\, the event draws crowds topping 30\,000 each year. Each year\, activities are added to keep the annual event exciting for first time visitors as well as repeat festival fans.\n\nFrom its humble beginning to now\, the Burnet Bluebonnet Festival is an annual tradition both residents and visitors alike enjoy each spring. Once you’ve attended your first festival\, you’ll be hooked. Go ahead and mark your calendar for the second weekend in April. You’ll want to come back year after year.

DESCRIPTION:Service League Continues Tradition of Community Support \n  \nWhen ladies from throughout the Highland Lakes Area tee off on Saturday\, April 30\, 2022\, at Hidden Falls Golf Club in Meadowlakes\, they will be celebrating something more than a fun day on the links with friends.  The Annual Ladies Charity Golf Tournament put on by the Highland Lakes Service League (HLSL) will celebrate 27 years of hosting this event\, with proceeds used to fund grants to local non-profit organizations and scholarships for adult women as well as other community needs. \n  \nHLSL members like to say: “Together\, We Can Do More!”. And they proved it by awarding $103\,945 in community grants\, and $56\,800 in scholarships over the last 5 years.  Organizations such as Burnet Co. Child Welfare Board\, Highland Lakes Family Crisis Center\, Highland Lakes Crisis Network\, Open Door Recovery\, Marble Falls Senior Center and Literacy Highland Lakes have benefitted from their charitable giving programs. \n  \nThe theme for this year’s Par 3 Ladies Charity Tournament is “Honoring First Responders”.   Registration is $100 per person for golf\, lunch and 2 mulligans.  Registration forms can be obtained from HLSL members\, local golf courses\, or the HLSL website www.hlsl.org \n  \nUnable to play?
