DESCRIPTION:The Highland Lakes Quilt Guild invited Janet Plentl\, creator of JaVib Barn Quilts to present the History of Barn Quilts and the Establishment of the Texas Hill Country Barn Quilt Trail. Janet is artist and founder of JaVibe Barn Quilts in Marble Falls. With over forty years of fabric quilt-making experience\, Janet has worked with a multitude of patterns\, quilts blocks\, and color combinations. Her fascination with barn quilts beginning in 2018 inspired her colorful hand painted designs\, which now adorn store fronts\, sheds\, fences\, porches\, and of course barns throughout the Texas hill country. She has commissioned over 500 barn quilts to date. This year alone\, Janet has conducted 108 classes in the art of making your own barn quilts.\nHighland Lakes Quilt Guild (HLQG) meets from 9:00 am – Noon\, Wednesday\, July 19\, in the Fellowship Hall at First United Methodist Church\, 1101 Bluebonnet Dr. in Marble Falls. Guests are welcome. Members attend workshops scheduled on the third Thursday of the month at the same meeting location. Come join our “Meet and Greet” with refreshments\, followed by a general members’ meeting and program.

DESCRIPTION:NORTHEAST BURNET COUNTY TRANSPORTATION STUDY\n\n\n\nBackground\nCAMPO and Burnet County are working together to identify transportation needs and recommendations for future improvements in Northeast Burnet County. The Study will include the evaluation of improvements along existing roadways. Burnet County and the six-county CAMPO region is experiencing significant growth and this growth is anticipated to continue. This Study is being conducted now to plan for future transportation needs as the population and employment in the area increase. \nFact Sheet\nStudy Goals and Objectives\n \nWhat the Study Will Accomplish\n The Northeast Burnet County Transportation Study will evaluate current and future roadway conditions\, anticipated development\, environmental constraints\, and gather public input to identify recommendations for transportation improvements in the area. The County could then use these recommendations to complete additional environmental analysis and schematic and detailed design for potential projects. \nPublic Involvement\nCommunity input is a key part of this study. Community input and commenting opportunities will be available throughout the study. Visit the online open house to review material\, leave comments about specific areas in the study area\, and complete a survey.
