Caretaker Needed for Disabled Child
We are new to the area (Buchanan Dam) and are looking for the right people to help us with our disabled son, Caleb, in the evenings after school/summer day program and/or on weekends. The job is rewarding & fun, as Caleb is one of the happiest people in the world. We are looking for two types of people: (1) at least 18 years of age (high school diploma required) with a clean background check, a valid Texas Driver’s License, transportation, and the ability to supervise Caleb independently on occasion, or (2) 16-17 years age, with a clean background check, a valid Texas Driver’s License, transportation, and the ability to supervise Caleb independently on occasion. We will help you obtain needed CPR certification.
This job is perfect for advanced high school or college-aged individuals. Having experience with disabled individuals is not necessary but being comfortable with and appreciating “kids” like Caleb is. We will work alongside you to train you every step of the way. Pay ranges from $15-$22/ hour, depending on age, qualifications, and experience. Starting salary is $18 if you are at least 18 years of age and meet the qualifications above, and $15 if you are 16-17 years of age. A complete application is required. Hours are 3:30 pm – 8:30 pm weekdays, and/or 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Saturdays and Sundays.
